Independent Facilitator FAQs 

An Independent Facilitator is a Christian woman who is called of God to lead an Oasis Bible Study class in her area. Typically, it is an in-person class. These facilitators are not under the umbrella of Living Waters of Hope. Therefore, Living Waters of Hope is not responsible or liable for anything that is taught outside of the material in the Oasis Bible Study books.

We strongly recommend that you take the Facilitator Training Course to be best equipped to lead an Oasis Bible Study group. Along with training on how to lead a class and education about domestic abuse, it includes Facilitator Notes with insights on each lesson and the all of the Oasis lesson videos for all 3 books.

Safety and privacy are the key issues. You will want to keep your class details and location private and not public. We suggest finding a host church for your class so the women in your own church are not identified as survivors when they attend your class. You always want a safety plan in case an angry husband or boyfriend shows up. Meeting in a building when others are there is another part of your safety plan because help is nearby. This might be the worship team practice and youth group or other meetings. We do not recommend doing an Oasis class in your home for your own safety and that of the women in your class.

Yes! We are happy to provide a free customized downloadable Oasis Bible Study flyer for the women’s restroom stalls and an Oasis Bible Study class PowerPoint slide for your church to show. They will include your name as the contact person for class details. We also have domestic abuse awareness posters available for your church bulletin boards or women’s restrooms.
