1 in 4 Christian women will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime. 

Many pastor's do not understand that domestic abuse is something that is happening within their congregations. You can make a life changing difference by giving them a resource they didn't even know they needed. 

However, 25% of the women in our churches do not feel safe at home.

You will worship with them on Sunday mornings. Serve next to them. Go to Bible Study with them... AND NEVER KNOW. 

A woman in a controlling relationship will be confused and ashamed. She might not know she is experiencing abuse. If she does, she might not know who is safe to talk to or who will believe her. 

Oftentimes, her husband has worked very hard at his public persona - making it very convincing that he is a good Christian man, loving & godly - he can be an elder, a worship leader, respected in the community. The kind of man that no one would suspect of being abusive behind closed doors. 

His wife knows this. So she'll stay silent. Praying and hoping for God to show her what to do.

This is why having Oasis Bible Study support class flyers in restroom stalls are so important. It is a private place where she can learn there is hope for her.

Oasis Ambassadors are crucial in creating safe churches for the 25% of Christian women suffering silently among us.

By listening to God's call, and going to church leaders (theirs and others in their community) with information about Living Waters of Hope and Oasis - Ambassadors are being God's hands and feet to give hope to His beloved daughters.

Then after praying for open hearts and open doors, you'll approach your church leadership (ideally, the head pastor - but a women's leader or another leader that they know can be a good starting point to get comfortable talking about domestic abuse and Oasis). 

Set a time to talk more about the resources Living Waters of Hope/Oasis can provide. Bring the Ambassador materials with you.

Ask if you can order the free stall flyers and other high quality printed materials for your church.

Follow up with a thank you email (an example will be provided for you). 

This process with your own church will give you the confidence to reach out to other churches in your area - perhaps the church of a friend or family member or a church that you pass regularly.
